Roe to Perdition

Frasier is one of those television shows that I can take or leave. If I know it's on, I probably won't bother watching - in fact, I may even search for something else. But if I happen to just leave it on, I really get into it. It's a great show, but I just don't always need it.

I caught the episode "Roe to Perdition" on Lifetime last week that cracked me up. Frasier and Niles are buying black market caviar, the really real good stuff. Roz is their drop-off woman, who gets it from the Crane brothers' supplier. They let her have just a little and she's hooked - a regular junkie.

I am only linking because of the first 30 seconds of this seven minute video, but you can find the entire episode on YouTube if you hunt around a little for it (much tougher to find last Friday's cliffhanger episode of Doctor Who, let me tell you, but it was soooooooo worth it). The last three minutes are caviar-related, too. They go right to the source and, well, try to hide the stash the best way you would if you have a mouth.

In the "Places I won't be eating anytime soon because I have to pay, like, rent and stuff" category

Forbes Magazine has its list of the 10 most expensive restaurants in the USA. The most expensive is in (big shock) Manhattan and will set you back $1000 for two people. Makes local high-rent faves like Petit Louis Bistro, Louisiana and even Ruth's Chris Steak House look positively trailer trashy, don't it?

If you polish and gold-plate a turd, it's still a turd...

Remember that $25K sundae from the Serendipity 3 restaurant in NYC? Well, the mice, fruit flies and cockroaches sure did. That's why the NYC health department shut S3 down. And which is also why there won't be any unbelievably overpriced sundaes in that part of Manhattan for a while.

Hey, it's kind of funny that S3 didn't mention on their website that they were closed. Hmmm, wonder why?

U.PDATE: Just corrected a grammatical error

Maybe in Zimbabwe (or, From the "Unbelievable Waste of Money" Section)

I don't care what they put in it - no chocolate sundae should be worth 25 grand. Ever.

But even though the dollar is, currently, in the toilet, that's nothing compared to what it'd cost in, say, Zimbabwe. At the current rate of inflation, you could buy half a normal sundae for about $25,000 Zimbabwean dollars. Check it out (courtesy of http://www.xe.com. I had to hunt for this information.)
