National π Day

This post is much more light-hearted than the previous...

Heads up, y'all. This Wednesday (3/14) is National π (that's Pi) Day. No, J$, not that National Pie Day. Make sure you eat some pie, or anything round for that matter. Anything at all.

And here's something for you, especially with our state's 3rd through 8th graders mired in yet more tests for the next two weeks: What is the circumference of a pie that is 12 cm. long on the side of one slice? And would that circumference change if the pie were à la mode?

If you get the answer, you get some π! Again, no, not that pie. Maybe I'll just make a post with lots of π's in it.

Here's another something for you: is π as delicious as pie?

I have friends who taught their 2 year old to answer Pi when asked what was 3.141 to the fifth power. She would also answer Pierre when asked what the capital of South Dakota was. Cute little trick!
