Shiver in My Bones Just Thinking...About the Weather

This post is very tenuously related to food, but I just have to remark on something. I remember just a few days ago, a few days before our beautiful 70ºF weather, that the weather pundits and meteorologists were smugly telling us all how it will definitely, indeed get and stay colder starting this week.

Guess what the Weather Channel now reports for the next ten days, January 7 - 16? At least two days above 60ºF. This includes Sunday, January 14 - the day our current Bawlmer Ravens play our former Bawlmer Colts - being showery and 72º. That's 72º Fahrenheit, people! I really must start ignoring the TV weather personalities. Of course, they were wrong about the cold finally settling in; perhaps they are wrong about this. But no snow days for a while, it seems.

Just to make this post somehow food-related: on those occasional days where it is positively frigid outside, whenever that is, why not settle down and make some nice hot chocolate? With marshmallows or marshmallow cream (hey, another good use for those Dalek marshmallows). And please use milk instead of water, unless you can't handle lactose. You're in good company if you can't, because most of the world's population is lactose-intolerant.
